Fire Victims, Protect Your Home
From Further Damage.

SERVICE PRO RESTORATION INC, will document the materials which were affected by the water damage and refer to industry standard pricing guides in order to determine the proper value of the residence’s materials lost and their replacement cost.

Water restoration services that we offer include the inspection of the affected area(s) with water sensing equipment such as probes and other infrared tools in order to determine the source of the damage, and possible extent of area affected. Water restoration services would then be rendered to the residence in order to dry the structure, sanitize any affected or cross-contaminated areas, and deodorize all affected areas and materials. After the labor is completed, water damage equipment including, but not limited to, air movers, air scrubbers, dehumidifiers, wood floor drying systems, and subfloor drying equipment is left in the residence. After a period of two to three days and the labor is completed, a reevaluation of the residence is taken to monitor the drying process, and any equipment not further needed is removed as to keep the charges under control.

Fire Damaged Buildings are Very Dangerous
– Be Safe, Call a Professional.

As tempting as it is, do not reenter your property unless your building has been inspected and you have been advised by a firefighter, building official or structural stabilization professional that it is okay to enter. “OK TO ENTER” DOES NOT MEAN SAFE TO ENTER. Even after a damaged building has been cleared, it is still a very dangerous environment. The building may look safe yet be structurally unsound, depending on the damage to floors, roofs and load bearing walls. Fire can weaken floors and walls without being visually apparent. You can find yourself falling through a floor that appears perfectly sound, but has been destroyed underneath. Beware of protruding nails in flooring that can puncture your shoes and injure your feet.

If you do get the go-ahead to enter the property, go in with someone else, in case you fall or are injured. It is best to take along a professional who can recognize and point out hazards that you might not be aware of. Friends and neighbors may be curious of what it looks like inside. To limit injury and your legal liability, do not allow friends and neighbors to enter an unsafe site unless it is absolutely necessary. Although children are curious and will want to come on the site NEVER ALLOW CHILDREN IN THE BUILDING OR ON THE SITE. It is a very dangerous environment. The “site” includes the yard where rusty nails and broken glass are often scattered.
